We're searching for a Trainee Mortgage Advisor to add to our London team.

The Role
As a Trainee Mortgage Advisor at David James Wealth, you will be responsible for working closely with our advisers and clients. You will be liaising with providers, organising paperwork for the advisers, and using our IT systems to record information and process business.
You will be highly organised, have a real attention to detail, and work well under pressure. You will work as part of team, where collaboration and teamwork are central to all that they do.
You will have regular contact with clients by phone, in person, and virtually. Client relationships are at the heart of what we do and everyone in the team has an important part to play in making sure our clients are well looked after.
This role provides a great opportunity to develop and build a career as a adviser, starting in our experienced mortgage team, advising the leading talent in business, music and sport.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and learn from our experienced advisory team to deliver tailored mortgage and protection advice, guiding clients through the process from initial consultation to successful completion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, lenders, and internal teams to ensure a smooth and high-quality service experience.
- Assist in managing the end-to-end mortgage process, including fact-finding, research, lender liaison, and application support.
- Stay informed on mortgage market trends, lender criteria, and regulatory updates to ensure advice remains accurate and compliant.
- Help assess and manage complex cases, applying problem-solving skills while maintaining full compliance with industry regulations.
- Develop knowledge across protection planning including life cover, critical illness, and income protection.
- Progress through training and development with the aim of transitioning into wealth management and broader financial planning within 12–24 months.

Qualifications/Experience
- Fully CeMAP qualified or working towards CII or equivalent mortgage qualification
- Background in banking, financial services, mortgages, or protection preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in a client-facing or target-driven role, with a track record of meeting objectives.
- Strong IT and digital skills, comfortable using CRM systems, sourcing platforms, and technology-driven processes.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a client-focused approach.
- Basic understanding of mortgage and protection products and the regulatory environment governed by the Financial Conduct Authority.
- Strong interest in developing a long-term career in financial advice and wealth management.
- Willingness to study towards the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning through completion of the CII R0 exams, supported by the firm as part of the transition into wealth management.
